We
had been talking about vibration
and noise control mechanisms for
walls and ceilings of industrial
and architectural spaces for a few
weeks now. When these two components
are rendered free of noise/vibration,
can the third component –
the floors – be left behind? |
 |
In
fact, floors are
often neglected
and become the
weak link in any
design and execution
of noise/vibration
control of acoustically-sensitive
spaces.
A very novel and
sophisticated
method for surefire
noise/vibration
control for floors
is Anutone-Kinetic’s
Spring Floating
Floor System.
Primarily specified
for areas with
irregular perimeter
contours or where
light to moderate
imposed loading
is expected, this
system uses spring
mounts that are
placed at 600~1200
mm centres on
top of a polyethylene
bond breaker which
has been laid
on the structural
floor.
