Architectural ceilings are usually lightweight by nature. When the soffit slab above is prone to structural vibrations by virtue of mechanical equipment, vehicular movement etc it can result in transfer of vibrations to the ceiling below and the resultant ‘jangling’ noise can be very annoying. In such cases AF hangers come to the rescue. Where the ceiling is heavyweight due to noise-isolant boarding like Tufbloc, then ICC becomes the choice.
AF – Acoustical ceiling hangers specifically designed as a vibration isolator for use in wire/rod supported, suspended ceiling systems like Skelet. AF hangers are a combination of uniquely permanent, very high density fibreglass and a zinc-plated metal assembly. Features include
